The State’s Attorney’s Office prosecutes all felony, misdemeanor and traffic offenses in Piatt County. The State’s Attorney’s Office initiates all dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency juvenile petitions and proceedings. The State’s Attorney also advises and represents the County Board and Piatt County officers. The State’s Attorney’s Office cannot file lawsuits on behalf of individuals or advise the public on the law.
